Euro Cup Winners From Time to Time

The ball is round, the slogan we often hear in conversations when an unexpected country wins the Euro cup. So here we will share complete information about the winners of the euro cup from year to year.

1960 – Uni Soviet

The first time the Euro Cup was held, the Uni Soviet became the first holder of the Euro Cup with a 2-1 victory over Yugoslavia. In this match the broadcast of football matches has been broadcast and can be watched on television. However, very few televisions today have black and white color.

1964 – Spain

In the second round of the euro cup, the country which is often referred to as the matador country successfully conquered its opponent, the Soviet Union, with a score of 2-1.

1968 – Italy

Four years later, in 1968 to be precise, the Euro match was again held, and was won by Italy with the victory from Yugoslavia. Uniquely, the match was held twice because in the first match the results were a draw with a score of 1 – 1 and in the second match Italy won absolutely with a score of 2 – 0.

1972 – Germany

Panzer Country also lifted the Euro Cup in 1972. The result of the victory over the Soviet Union was also very far, namely 3 – 0.

1976 – Czechoslwakia

The next round of the Euro Cup Germany was defeated and was won by Czechoslwakia with the result of a penalty shootout. In contrast to 1968, when a draw will result in a rematch, FIFA changes the rule to a penalty shootout if both teams have a draw until the time runs out.

1980 – Germany

Germany won the Euro Cup again in 1980 with a 2-1 victory in the match against Belgium.

1984 – France

The country with the highest tower owner, France, won the Euro Cup with a 2-0 victory over Spain. This is the first time France has won this prestigious trophy.

1988 – Netherlands

In 1988, the Netherlands, which is an allied country, won the Euro cup against the Soviet Union with a final score of 2-0.

1992 – Denmark

In 1992, Denmark managed to beat Germany with a score of 2-0 and for the first time the country achieved a brilliant achievement in the field of football.

1996 – Germany

For the third time Germany won the Euro Cup with a result of 2-1 against the Czech Republic. This is the last euro cup for Germany and has not won this match again until now.

2000 – France

Sixteen years from the last country France won the Euro cup match, right in 2000, the French country won the Euro Cup again with a 2-1 victory over Italy.

2004 – Greece

In addition to its military strength in ancient times, it turns out that Greece also won the Euro Cup with a 1-0 victory against Portugal. This victory is the first achievement of the Greek state in sports.

2008 – Spain

In 2008, Spain won the Euro Cup again with a final score of 1-0 and managed to conquer Germany.

2012 – Spain

Again, and again the country of Spain won the Euro Cup again with a score of 4-0 over Italy.

2016 – Portugal

The last Euro Cup was held in 2016 and was won by Portugal with a score of 1-0 over France. Cristiano Ronaldo is the star of the match during the Euro cup.

A Proud History

PRIDE Soccer Club was formed largely through the efforts of its four original founders – dedicated parents who saw the increasing popularity of the sport of soccer, the rapid increase in the number of participants in Southern Colorado, and the need for a high quality organization to coordinate and supervise a family oriented soccer program.

In June 1994, the El Paso PRIDE Soccer Association was incorporated in the state of Colorado. During its first year, PRIDE Soccer Club coordinated 45 teams with 430 children participating in its organized soccer programs. Today, PRIDE Soccer Club is one of the largest youth soccer clubs in the state of Colorado with approximately 4500 players on over 300 teams.

KidSafe Program

Pride Soccer Club, as a member of Colorado Youth Soccer (CYS) and US Youth Soccer, adopted the KidSafe Program to promote the health, safety, and protection of youth soccer players. The Pride Soccer Club is excited to announce that our U12, U13 and U14 boys have been accepted as members of the U.S. Soccer Development Academy for the 2016-2017 season. The Development Academy is a nationwide youth program created to enhance the development of elite players through a focus on high technical standards, increased training, and more meaningful games.

Pride is dedicated to developing better people and better players, and as members of the Development Academy we will continue to provide the highest level of training and competition for our elite players. We are invested in our players at every level by offering programs for novice players, and with our acceptance into the Development Academy, we now have the ultimate step for our young players to aspire to reach on their soccer pathway.

Pride Competitive Boys Director of Coaching Brian Contreras said, “We are dedicated to player development both on and off the field, and this has been a goal of the Pride boys staff since the creation of the Development Academy in 2007. We are proud of the growth of the boys program over the past several years, and inclusion into the DA program is truly an honor. This would not have been possible without the efforts of past coaches, players and families, so thanks to all those Pride members that laid the foundation for the Pride Development Academy to become a reality! We are pleased to be able to offer this opportunity, to ensure all of our Pride players have the appropriate environment to reach their full potential while at Pride.”
